Unit 2 Drama Monologues/Duologues

August 7th, 2007 by changeplaces

Hi guys! You have made it this far….now just type your reflections  in the box below and click ’submit comments’. Where you are up to so far? What is working for you?  What you are stuck with? What do you plan to do next? What is your goal by the end of this week and what do you need to help you get there? Don’t forget to keep the warm up games at the start of each class limited to 10 -15mins max. And be good for your teachers - you should be able to operate as independent young actors! Cheers, Mandy

    Hi,
I’ve begun working on the character… just trying to find out what/who he actually is :D I’ve memorised some of it, and I’ve found the beats in the piece :D (coz they were already marked)
Now all i really need to figure out is what the character should wear :D and finding props….
But other than that its all going really well :D

Remember, just because the beats are already marked doesn’t mean that has to be the only interpretation! Just be sure it feels right and you can justify your character’s intentions and actions….A good technique to memorise a monologue is to record it - then listen to it on your Ipod or Mp3 player. Hearing your own voice can help retain the words. The more you hear it, the easier it gets! Mandy

Simone and I have decided we will most likely do a duologue from a movie we both like, just as a back up in the event u can not find the ‘dags’ script

hey, i did my character profile but it kinda sucks i think.. theres so many open ended situations in this play its hard to concentrate on one! im just about ready to start playing around with my improv. im finding the ‘creates a vision which examines some of the social changes in Endland between the 1910’s and 1940’s/.’ i’ll keep googling it tho.

OMFG criminology was awsm. the actors were great, and completely insync with the lighting and sound and each other. Especially the last dinner scene where they slow down and speed up and down etc. was greeeeat. and topless female actors is always a good thing too ;)

I’m very inclined to agree with Jordan lol especially with the topless female part lol
It was very believable, the actors seemed to almost be living the story… in other words I liked it :D
Should definately see it again :D
